2025 Summer Swim Classes
Water Aerobics (60 minutes)
Wednesdays 5:45-6:45pm and Saturdays 12-1pm in season
Water Aerobics is a great method to work out to music and have fun at the same time! Moreover, the water's resistance promotes cardiovascular endurance and muscle tone. A greater range of motion is also possible when exercising in the water, which improves flexibility and general strength. Water aerobics becomes a fun and energizing workout that can help elevate mood and lower stress levels when paired with upbeat music. For a fun and productive workout, why not put on your swimsuit, turn up the music, and sign up for a water aerobics class at Bailiwick?

Infant & Parent Class (30 minutes)
This group class, designed for babies six months to a year old, is a great method to strengthen the link between parent and child while exposing the baby to the water in a pleasant and safe way. In these sessions, the teacher assumes the position of a facilitator, offering advice to the caregiver on how to ease their infant's transition to the water and inspiring them to experiment with novel motions and experiences. While some newborns may be more daring and ready to jump in right away, others may be inherently more cautious and need more time to become used to the water. This nurturing atmosphere makes the infant feel safe and comfortable, enabling them to progressively gain confidence and learn the fundamentals of swimming.

Toddler & Parent Class (30 minutes)
Parent and toddler group classes are a wonderful introduction to the world of swimming for children as young as 12 to 20 months old. These classes are designed to help toddlers become familiar with the water and learn how to move their bodies within it in a safe and supportive environment. In these classes, toddlers are introduced to basic water safety skills such as floating on their backs, kicking their legs, and blowing bubbles in the water. Through games, songs, and playtime, these young swimmers are encouraged to explore and have fun in the water while also developing their physical and cognitive abilities. Overall, parent and toddler classes are a fantastic way for young children to become comfortable and confident in the water while also fostering a love for swimming and water activities. These classes not only provide a fun and enriching experience for toddlers but also create a supportive and nurturing environment for parents to engage with their child in a meaningful way.

Private Lessons (30 minutes)
Private swim lessons offer a tailored and personalized approach to learning how to swim. The instructor will assess the student's current swimming abilities and build a customized learning plan to help them progress with all strokes. By starting from where the student is currently and focusing on their specific strengths and weaknesses, private swim lessons can accelerate the learning process and ensure that each student is getting the attention and guidance they need to improve their swimming skills. Whether the student is a beginner looking to build confidence in the water or an experienced swimmer seeking to refine their technique, private lessons offer a personalized and effective way to achieve individual swimming goals.

Specialty Lesson: Preparing for Camp
Private “camp” swim lessons are a fantastic way to ensure that your child is fully prepared for any upcoming challenges in the water. Many summer camps have prerequisites for swimming in deep water, such as floating on your back, treading water, and swimming a certain distance. Our private lessons focus on helping your child master or refresh these skills so that they can confidently pass any swimming tests required at camp. By tailoring our lessons to target specific camp swimming requirements, we are able to provide personalized instruction that addresses your child's individual needs and challenges.

Specialty Lesson: Preparing for Swim Team
There is a sense of excitement and anticipation in the air as the new swim season approaches. The buzz around Bailiwick's swim team is palpable, with everyone eager to be a part of the amazing team that is being formed. Every child dreams of being a part of something special, and this swim team is no exception. The prerequisites for joining the team are clear and simple: children must be at least 6 years old and able to swim almost the whole length of the pool with appropriate breathing for the front crawl. These criteria may seem daunting to some, but our Bailiwick Aquatics program is designed to help every child reach their full potential. For those who are close to meeting the requirements or simply wanting a little practice with guidance, Bailiwick offers swim team lessons that are designed to help them get on track. (Note: we do not guarantee placement on the swim team.)
